Jogi ... the feel that never ends...Review by Gokul in Viggy.com

Hypes have been there...Nothing new...But when it crosses a certain limit people loose their calm and get into a fever. Similar fever had got into the mind of all the kannadagigas and it was none other than the JOGI FEVER.

Everyone ... not only the fans but also the noncinema going crowd, Press, everyother person was asking abt the so called JOGI Jatre and wat the Jogi Japa was all about.I knw this will be the most awaited review ever this now.

Sorry i was a little late this time giving out my review but never mind finally here it is.The much awaited cinema in the history of kananda films(i say this becoz from the time i began watching kannada movies i have never seen such an anticipation) finally released and no doubt people just rushed to the nearest screens. Tickets rates went zooming. Personal experience for me on 1st day was 400rs in black.

I was myself offered 200 for my ticket. Ok moving forward all of u must remember that these experiences are just once in a lifetime. Lucky me to experience it. Prem looking for a hatric in the KFI...has he acheived it...hmmm wait...lets decide towards the end.

Going the Mani Ratnam style Prem starts off from a scence of the climax which proves to be the main tuning point in the film. U never really get to understand the main storyline for atleast i should say till the interval. Twists, flashbacks , sentiments rule throughout the film...I think i missed out comedy....but sadly there's no much to tell abt tat...In OM we had dear Sadhu but here no one impresses in a comical role.

Film deals with a mixture of rowdism and loads of sentiment. Mother son sentiment awards and Jogi will surely win it. Such is the intensity with which the story has been bonded between Shivu who plays the role of (Madesha)Jogi and Arundati Nag(Superb Return) as Jogi's mother.

However screenplay towards the middle of the film becomes a little weak. I dont knw why Prem decided on such a screenplay becoz in between u do get the feeling that the movie is getting off track.

But Prem's brilliance is back in the 2nd half and in the climax its just superb. Hatric hero Shivanna has given a dream performance. If u see the expressions and mannerisms wheather it was the innocence of Madesha or the rowdism of Jogi...man u knw whose son he is.....just picturised in the best fashion by Prem. Arundati has used all her experience and led the way for Jogi's success. Could'nt get a better character actually. Apart from these 2 roles on which the whole story revolves others dont have much of a role.

Lets get deeper now. Jennifer Kotwal...name sounds good...looks good....yella ok aadre aa umph illa yaake!!!!!..... Tiny miny short skirts idru poor voice recording and weak character just makes u forget her inmidst of all the confusion in the movie. Traditional dress is almost a biggg NO as it never really suits her and just running around everywhere and singing in the rain in the middle of the road Chikku Bukku Railu...ho will just no do.

Off she goes from my list and i will surely say she fails to impress in the movie.Now the most powerfull Strength of the movie...NAM GURU GURUKIRAN...Guruve aden songs kotte pa...Jana kunidu kupalisi bitru...Bombhat!!!!! Record sales for Ashiwini and record noise level in the theatre also....I have no words to describe the reaction of the fans for each and every song.

But the josh wat i had while listening was not there for me when i actually saw it. Prem should have worked more on picturisation and should have been more creative, So called item no Bin Laden was like an item no at all...Making Yana Gupta dance with cows and goats....hmmm no more on that....But i will surely say this...1 songs stands out of all...Yello Jogappa ninna aramane was a dream song in the movie.

Just ultimate and my word i was awstruck watching it. Who to watch wheather the mad fans on the podium or the tecnical brilliance of the cameraman. Just an unbeleivable song...Best in the movie for me.

Hodimaga though the favoirite for everyone does'nt look very great on screen. I like Shivu's dress...sorry but i just wanted to say this...I just luved the t-shirt with tat hand imprint. Erupting accepatance when the song started.Other songs are mainly sentiment oriented nothing much to say there.

Malemadeshwara song is also well picturised.Whole movie has been shot using the typical wat i would call halli kannada. Very well spoken by Shivanna also. So then wats the final verdict thats the question on everyone's lips. Yes i rate in 3.5/5. Surely should go in as a super hit into the books.

After all i would say that all the efforts were not wasted. Wheather it was the tecnical brilliance of Prem , Acting Power of Shivanna whose just ultimate...i just cant forget the climax...such a touching scene...man will surely cut anyone's heart. Such a great performance deserves appreciation and hats off to him for that....., Ramprasad who did'nt bother abt burning his pockets(Yes dont forget Yana Gupta , US release not an easy acheivement ) , Guru Kiran's class....everything have bore fruits and Jogi is there to be watched by one and all.Prem deserves the hatric acheivement also. Cant leave him out.

Director is the brainhead behind a cinema. So i'm eagarly waiting to hear future reports of Jogi performance in the BO.

All the best for JOGI - A feel that never ends especially when u hear the last dialog which deleivers the powerfull messege with a shock ending.
